Reuters Africa is reporting that Argentina’s state controlled YPF has purchased a minimum of five cargoes of LNG.
Traders told Reuters that the LNG cargoes, supplied by Shell, EDF Trading, Petrobras, BP and Excelerate Energy, would be delivered between April and June 2015.
YPF recently tendered to buy 11 shipments of LNG to partially cover winter needs in the southern hemisphere.
The LNG cargoes will be split between Argentina’s two import terminals, and traders believe that the sales prices achieved a minimium of US$1/million Btu premium to Britain’s National Balancing Point (NBP).
