INDORE: Controversial state of
VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi over
Mahatma Gandhi may land her in legal trouble, as a petition was filed against her on Friday in a local court of Indore for hurting sentiments of people.
Lokesh Bhargav, legal practitioner, along with Amit Bhatiya, Seema Bhatiya and Nilesh Solanki filed a petition against
Sadhvi Prachi in court of first class judicial magistrate Ashutosh Shukla.
Petitioners appealed to register a case against VHP leader for hurting sentiments of people by giving objectionable statement.
Counsellor for petitioner Praveen Yogi said few days back VHP leader Sadhvi Prachi in a programme in UP had alleged that Mahatma Gandhi was a "British agent" and his contribution towards independence of the country was "negligible". She went on to say that Gandhian ways of protests and hunger strikes were worthless in achieving freedom.
“There are large numbers of people in India and world over who admire Gandhi, so the state of BJP leader has hurt the sentiment of people,” said Yogi adding that VHP leader had even shown disrespect to nation by giving objectionable statement against father of nation.
