ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The polling on as many as four seats in Senate for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) on Friday is underway in the National Assembly (NA) from 9 am and it will continue until 4 pm today.

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), at least 36 candidates are contesting for as many as four seats in the Senate whereas the number of voters is 11. The polling is underway in the committee room of the NA.

Moreover, the unofficial results will be announced right after the polling time ends.

Earlier, the Senate Election 2015 on FATA seats was postponed on March 5 due to a controversial presidential ordinance. This ordinance attempted to change the process of voting for the FATA seats. The FATA members demonstrated a protest due to the postponing of election. Later, the government withdrew the ordinance.
