Without you all my life would of fell apart
There is so many to thank for well wishes and asking about how I am doing - I say thank you.
I would really like to thank the Grenfell ambulance and the CareFlight team who have saved my life - you guys are amazing.
You know it’s so overwhelming, two weeks ago on Friday, February 27, I went from happiness to ... I don’t really know how I felt on opening day at my new cafe the Loaded Dog in Grenfell.
At approximately 12 midday as I said our lives turned upside down as I collapsed - I was treated and transferred by CareFlight chopper to Orange Base Hospital, where my life laid in the hands of a great team in ICU, where I laid on life support for approximately eight days.
I do not remember much, which is a good thing.
The only thing I do remember is I’ve been to hell and back with tubes and God knows what was pumping through my body.
To my family and co workers, my daughter Caitlin Verde, my bro Bill Verde, Robyn Lavis, my future son in law who dropped everything to come help keep the shop going, Kyle Opbroek my nephew, Jordan Verde my son, James Verde, my eldest daughter Rebecca Verde and every one of you, and some that have just jumped in to help.
I owe so much, I will never forget the love and support and help to this day.
I’ve been told I’m a very lucky man to still be here.
I do have a very long road ahead with rehab and physio doctors etc.
To all that read this I thank you and just take a little note ... live for today and be happy cause we are never promised for tomorrow.
I will be stepping back from the cafe at this time as my family will be running it for me when I will be back I do not know, but I have all faith in my family, how they kept it going from day one I will never know how they did it.
I will still pop in from time to time to chat with you great people from Grenfell and surrounds.
At this minute I’m tired and have mixed emotions as you can understand, as the cafe is everything to me, and not being able to be there or see it grow is so hard ... but my health comes first, me being there all the time at this minute I cannot do.
Please keep supporting the Loaded Dog Cafe and Pizzeria as we will help support our community again.
I say a big thank you to my mum and dad I love you more than life itself xxxxxxx
