Radio Kashmir Jammu organizes ‘Kul Hind Urdu Mushaira’

JAMMU, Mar 19: Latest in the series of programmes, Radio Kashmir Jammu today organized a Kul Hind Urdu Mushaira at Government College for Women Parade, Jammu.
Top notch Urdu poets of the country doled out their choicest Nazams to the jam packed audience in the Mushaira. Four Sahitya Academy Award winner poets led a total of 19 poets in today’s programme.  Sheen Kaaf Nizami from Jaipur, Krishan Kumar Toor from Chandigarh, Chandrabhan Khayal from Delhi and Rayeesuddin Rayees from Aligarh were among the poets who Sahitya Academy awardees who recited their poems.
Farooq Nazki, Rafeeq Raaz from Srinagar, Hassan Kamal from Mumbai, Ahmad Ali Bargi and Mohammad Wali Ullah Wali from Delhi, Javed Anwar from Varanasi, Javed Mazhar from Gomkteshwar, UP, Mujeeb Shehzar from Aligarh, Parveen Kumar Ask from Pathankot, Sagar Sehrai from Bhaderwah, Balraj Bakshi from Udhampur,  Arsh Sehbai, Liaqat Jafferi and Khalid Karar were the others  poets.
Krishan Kumar Toor from Chandigarh, touched some chord with the audience when he read out “Honi The Mere Dil Ki Sifarish Bahut Hui, Dekha Unhein To Aankhon Se Baarish Bahut Hui”.
Sheen Kaaf Nizam from Jaipur was received with a splendid ovation by the crowd while  noted Bollywood poet Hassan Kamaal was also received by a thunderous applause.
The event began with the traditional lighting of the lamp by the Station Director of Radio Kashmir Jammu, .V K Sambyal, who was joined in by the prominent writers.  The proceedings were conducted by Programme Executive Satish Vimal.
In the coming days, Radio Kashmir Jammu is going to enthral the audience of Jammu with Radio Drama Event, Folk Music evening wherein the artists are going to come from
North East, Rajasthan, Haryana etc, and another long cherished programme, an All India Punjabi Hasya Kavi Darbar.
The Station Director promised a calendar of events for the coming months at far off places of the region.
