Jagan party gives notice for no-confidence motion against Andhra Speaker

He reiterated his appeal to telecast at least the last five minutes of his speech on the budget in the legislative assembly, so that people can judge for themselves that what he spoke was right or wrong.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) gave a notice to move a no-confidence motion against Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker K Shiva Prasad to the Assembly Secretary on Thursday afternoon.

Party chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said he and his MLAs have decided not to attend the assembly, except on the day of voting of the no-confidence motion. Speaking to mediapersons, Jagan accused the government of repeatedly interrupting his speech and said it does not have the patience to face the facts.

“Is this the way the House is run, in the most horrible way? The ruling party is muzzling the Opposition. How can people’s problems be highlighted if the Opposition’s voice is not allowed to heard?” Jagan asked.

He further said the Speaker had stopped him from speaking and switched off his microphone several times. Jagan added that the speaker had passed a dictum disallowing him to highlight the faulty budgetary allocations. The YSRCP also met the Governor earlier in the day to complain against the Speaker.
