Same-day Islington Avenue shootings related, police say

A Toronto man died in hospital Thursday, two days after he and another man were shot in separate incidents at the same address on Islington Avenue.

Toronto police say they believe the two shootings are connected.

On Tuesday, police were called to 2063 Islington Ave., north of Dixon Road, to investigate a shooting.

At the scene, police found 21-year-old Ahmed Siyad suffering from gunshot wounds.

Siyad was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

On Tuesday evening, police cleared the scene and then were immediately called back to investigate a second shooting that occurred around 8:15 p.m.

A man was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries.Police say he died in hospital on Thursday afternoon.

Police have identified the deceased as 22-year-old Malcolm Marfo.
