After targeting Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for three years on the issue of law and order, BJP’s women-wing has now been asked to write letters to his wife and Kannauj MP Dimple Yadav seeking her intervention in curbing the crime against women in the state.

While BJP’s women-wing state president Kamlawati Singh has already written a letter to Dimple in this regard, wing’s district presidents have been directed to send similar letters citing major crime incidents against women in their respective districts.

“She can not escape from her responsibility. If Dimple Yadav does not respond to the demand made in these letters, the party will collect copies of these letters and will hand it over to the CM with a message that there was no hope left with the Samajwadi Party government,” said Kamlawati.

In her letter sent to Dimple, Kamlawati mentioned about the rising incidents of harassment of women and crime against minor girls in the state, and above all she needs to take cognizance of the fact that the Samajwadi Party members are either “involved” in such incidents or give “protection to the accused”.

She has also cited example in the letter about the alleged misbehaviour by the police with women in Moradabad and Unnao districts on the Women’s Day on March 8. She has written that such incidents show the mindset of the Akhilesh Yadav government on women issues.

“I have written letter to remind Dimple Yadav of her responsibilities towards women because her husband and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav is not executing his responsibilities. I have requested her to ask her husband to ensure protection of women’s rights in UP and ensure action in different incidents like of Moradabad and Unnao,” she said.
