From the pictures released by Honda, the SFA seems to use the same 150cc single-cylinder four stroke motor from the existing CBR150R. If it does see production, and is launched in India, it will take on the likes of the KTM 200 Duke

Honda SFA 150cc Concept

Honda will be showcasing the SFA concept bike at the Osaka Motorcycle Show in Japan this weekend alongwith the CRF250 Rally. The SFA Concept was first showcased in Indonesia last year, and going by the repeated displays of the bike, it could well turn into a production model.

The frame on the SFA is a mixture of a trellis front with a cast centre section. And the SFA comes kitted out with twin LED headlights and very cool looking alloy spoked wheels, which somehow lends the bike a much larger look than the 150cc engine capacity might suggest.

The SFA uses a 150cc single-cylinder four stroke motor from the existing CBR150R, that makes about 18.5PS of power and 12.6NM of torque. The figures aren’t outright impressive, but this makes sense for markets in Southeast Asia and India. And indeed, if it is launched in India, it will be pitted squarely against the likes of KTM 200 Duke, Bajaj Pulsar 200NS and to some extent, even the Yamaha FZ-S FI V2.0.

Honda is expected to disclose further details of the bike only over the weekend at Osaka. We will certainly keep tuned to any announcements. Will this come to India? We sure hope so.
