Sriram Balaji rallies past Perret

Second-seeded N. Sriram Balaji registered a 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 win over Loic Perret of Switzerland to enter the quarterfinals of the Vasan Eye Care-ITF men’s Futures tennis championship on Wednesday.

After dropping the first set, Balaji was broken in the opening game of the second, but immediately broke back.

Unforced errors at crucial cost Perret his serve in the fourth game and Balaji went on to level the match out.

The second seed broke his opponent in the third and fifth games to take a 4-1 lead in the decider. The Swiss did get a break back, but Balaji ensured there was no further let-up.
