OPP have made an arrest in connection to the theft of Salvation Army donation kettles in Alliston.

A 55-year-old Innisfil man was arrested on Wednesday, four months after allegedly stealing donation kettles and replacing them with empty ones.

On Dec. 20, OPP received complaints from two businesses in Alliston, claiming a man dressed in a replica Salvation Army uniform was removing donation bins and replacing them with empty kettles.

Following a lengthy investigation by Nottawasaga OPP, the man was arrested and charged with two counts of theft under $5,000.

OPP are thanking the public for their assistance in their investigation.
