LDDS Announces the FCPA Module for Compliance DeskTop®

The Compliance DeskTop provides a cost-effective cloud solution for tracking, managing and analyzing corporate compliance and Foreign Corrupt Practices Act issues.

Law Department DeskTop Services, LLC ("DeskTop") announces the addition of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act ("FCPA") module to the Compliance DeskTop.

The FCPA extends the Compliance DeskTop to include:

• Tracking of foreign agent communications and agreements;
• Enabling the use of embedded workflows, which reflect the client's processes, to ensure consistent management of FCPA-related matters, including management reporting
• Transfer of all appropriate content from the compliance department to the legal department when an issue becomes a legal matter. The DeskTop manages the transfer so establish effective privilege.

Steve Lauer, Principal of Lauer & Associates, has assisted in the design of the FCPA as well as O. Forrest Morgan, President of the DeskTop who was involved in the early implementation of FCPA as the AGC of Westinghouse.

Cost and Implementation
The Compliance DeskTop is hosted on secure, cloud-based Microsoft SharePoint servers. There is no charge for individual users so that marketing, compliance and legal can all access the system. All a corporate compliance department needs to get started is a browser. The cost is $5,000. per year.

Documenting and Managing Foreign Agents
The Compliance DeskTop maintains a list of all of a company's foreign agents and tracks documentation, communications, countries covered by an agreement and commencement and renewal dates.
