Srinda to play a cop in Asif Ali-starrer

Mollywood has seen a handful of actresses like Vani Vishwanath, Bhavana and Asha Sharath playing tough cop roles.
Joining the league is none other than actress Srinda, who is famed for her village belle acts. She is all set to don the khaki in the upcoming Asif Ali-starrer, Adventures of Omanakuttan. However, Srinda says, she is not playing a tough cop in the film.“I play a simple khaki-clad officer, who falls in love with a cop. It is not a roguish character at all. Asif portrays the titular character, Omanakuttan, who has a big heart and a number of flings. In fact, he pretends to be a cop and my character falls in love with him. There are a lot of twists in the tale,” she says. This is not the first time that Srinda is essaying the role of a cop. “In Masala Republic, I have played the member of a police squad,” says the actress, adding that she had fun during the photo shoot of the movie. “The shoot is yet to start, but we have completed the photo shoot. During the shoot, I had to do some high-octane action scenes like climbing the post and all, and I couldn’t control my laughter.” Bhavana plays the female lead in the film directed by debutant Rohit VS. Meanwhile, Srinda has a funny role in Adoorilum Thoppilum Allathoru Bhasi. “I will be seen in my usual naadan girl avatar, and I’m cast opposite Indrajith in the film,” she signs off.
