Theatre owner killed as rifle misfires

Thota Rama Prasad (63), owner of Jyothi Theatre in Visakhapatnam, was killed when his rifle allegedly went off at M.K. Palem, a tribal village, in Veduruvada panchayat in Bondapalli mandal on Monday night. According to police, Rama Prasad, along with few others, went into the forest near the village for hunting. In the darkness, his rifle reportedly went off.

He suffered bullet injury and succumbed to it at KGH where he was admitted for treatment.

Investigation on

However, following a complaint by his family members, Bobbili DSP Ramana Murty and Gajapathinagaram inspector Vijayanath visited the spot on Tuesday morning and began investigation.
