JCO among 22 soldiers hurt in accident

RAJOURI, Mar 17: Twenty two (22) jawans, including a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) were injured when an Army vehicle they were travelling, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Jhangar area of Nowshera sector in district Rajouri this morning.
Official sources said that 5-Ton Army truck which was on way to Nowshera from Jhangar LoC area, skidded off the road and fell into a gorge at around 9 am today at Kalsian. A JCO was accompanying the soldiers to the town. The driver lost control at a curve and the vehicle landed into a gorge.
The rescue operation was immediately launched by the Army jawans from the nearby unit and the injured jawans were shifted to the Military Hospital, Nowshera and Rajouri. Four seriously injured jawans have been airlifted to the Command Hospital, Udhampur. Six were undergoing treatment in Rajouri hospital.
