Truck cleaner dies in accident

PONDA: A cleaner of a truck succumbed to accident injuries late Monday evening. The truck, from Nagpur, loaded with about 20 tonne of construction steel was heading to Panaji, when the driver of the truck accidently steered his vehicle on a wrong road, plunging his vehicle from a height of about 10 feet at Kundaim on Monday afternoon.
Suraj, the truck cleaner, and truck driver Avadesh Singh, 52, a resident of Nagpur, were injured and shifted to GMC, Bambolim, where Suraj succumbed to his injuries.An offence of rash and negligent driving has been registered against the injured truck driver, Ponda police said.
