Here's a money shot for you: The world's No.1  and No.5 richest people flanking former tennis champ John McEnroe at the BNP Paribas tennis tournament in Indian Wells, California. Larry Ellison, whose net worth Forbes pegs at $53.1 billion, bought the BNP Paribas Open in 2010. (Just as a comparison, Forbes estimates Bill Gates' net worth at $78.7 billion.) Gates, McEnroe and Ellison together watched a match Friday March 13 between Serena Williams and Monica Niculescu. Williams, who was playing at the Indian Wells tournament for the first time in 13 years, won 7-5, 7-5.

Part of the reason McEnroe was there: On Saturday night he led the "McEnroe Challenge for Charity," which brought together former tennis champions including Tracy Austin and Lindsey Davenport and others playing for teams captained by McEnroe and Andy Roddick. The event raised money for local charities, according to local reports.
