Final Pairs Results

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine sand volleyball team completed their first road play of the season, finishing day 2 of the USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Challenge on Sunday at the Olympic Training Center.
 
A trio of UH pairs advanced to the quarterfinals of the 32-team tournament but would all come up short. Brittany Tiegs and Nikki Taylor, who received a first-round bye, rallied from a set down to beat Pepperdine's Sophie Asprey and Taylor Racich 18-21, 21-15, 21-12 in their round two match.
 
Olivia Urban and Katie Spieler won their round of 32 match before beating Pepperdine's Katie Messing and Corinne Quiggle with a heart stopping 21-18, 19-21, 16-14 win, and Hannah Rooks and Sammie Brown won their first two matches before falling to Pepperdine's eventual champion of Kelley Larsen and Kellie Woolever.
 
The 'Bows will break ground this week on their new sand facility at the T.C. Ching Complex, hosting a dual match vs. USC on Wednesday, March 18 at 5:00 p.m.
