Profcon, a three-day national-level conference of professional college students, organised by the Mujahid Students Movement (MSM), concluded on Sunday. The conference comprised 30 sessions at which more than a 100 papers were presented.
Economist Ashraf Muhammdi led the discussion on Islamic economics. The conference passed a resolution calling for steps to rectify the qualitative fall in medical and engineering education in the country. Many professional colleges lacked even basic academic facilities. Students who passed out from such institutions could become a liability for the country, the resolution said. It also called for stern steps to end ‘exploitation by a section of coaching centres in the name of entrance examinations.’
A separate resolution said that denying people food of their choice did not augur well for a secular nation.
