Missing woman’s body found in mining soakpit

Valpoi police recovered the body of Sangeeta Gawade,38, of Soliem, Sattari, who had gone missing from her house since March 9.

PANAJI: Valpoi police recovered the body of Sangeeta Gawade,38, of Soliem, Sattari, who had gone missing from her house since March 9. The body was traced in a mining soakpit by naval commandos at Soliem. Police suspect that the deceased could have committed suicide. During the investigation, it was found that the soakpit does not have any fencing. The police also found a water pot on the side of the soak pit.
Police recorded the statement of her husband Sandeep, even as the exact cause of death is yet to be ascertained.
