Science festival: Sri Devaraj Urs Medical College, constituent college of Sri Devaraj Urs University (a Deemed to be University), Kolar, conducted various activities as part of National Science Day-2015.
A week-long science exhibition was arranged in the institute. Students from various schools and colleges of Kolar visited it.
A scientific talk on “Adolescent Health and Health of Women” was arranged at the Government College for Women. More than 300 students of the college attended the talk given by Dr. Ranganath B.G., Professor, and Dr. Ananyalakshmi, postgraduate student of the Department of Community Medicine.
The students interacted with the speakers enthusiastically and clarified many doubts related to their health and functioning of the human body.
A number of teaching staff and postgraduate students of the Department of Microbiology of SDUMC visited the Government higher primary school at Kembodi in Kolar to give a talk on hygiene and worm infestations. Blood grouping of the students was carried out. P.F. Kotur, Vice-Chancellor of the University, and M.B. Sanikop, Dean, guided the science week festivities while Vice-Principal Ranganath B.G., coordinated the celebrations.
