Online pre-registration facility started at PGI

If the patient does not come to the OPD on the chosen day, they will have to re-register on the web.

In a move to give respite to patients from standing in long queues PGIMER launched Online Pre-registration of patients on Saturday.

It has been launched at Advanced Eye Centre on a pilot basis and will be extended to other OPDs.

This user friendly system on the Institute website (http://pgimer.edu.in) is designed for first time visitors to PGI. Patients can register themselves for a visit to the Advanced Eye Centre (AEC) on a chosen date in the next one week.

After filling in a small amount of information, a Pre-Registration number will be sent to their registered Mobile Number and e-mail ID.

“By presenting this number at the special pre-registration counter in the AEC on the chosen day, an OPD card with a unique and permanent patient CR number will be generated within a minute. This permanent CR number will be used by the patient for all subsequent visits to the hospital to the AEC and all other departments,” said an official.

Festive offer

If the patient does not come to the OPD on the chosen day, they will have to re-register on the web.

Initially, this facility is being limited to 40 patients per day in the AEC.

Within the next few weeks, this limit will be increased and the facility extended to other OPDs in PGI.
