Haryana Women Commission intervenes in MBBS student suicide case

GURGAON: Haryana Women Commission vice chairperson Suman Dahiya visited SGT Medical College, where a girl's suicide led to student protests, and directed Gurgaon police to submit investigation report within 15 days.
Cops informed Dahiya that they were waiting for forensic report of the suicide note. The family of Payal Godara, the 23-year-old MBBS student who committed suicide on February 4, had alleged that she had failed a medical exam and was being harassed by the administration.
The state women commission took cognizance of the matter after student protests. "I visited the college and spoke to students, the vice chancellor, registrar and the principal of the collage. I have asked the police to speed up investigation," Dhaiya told TOI.
