Shah Rukh's disastrous stand-up comic act!

No matter how hard Shah Rukh Khan can make one laugh with his films, when it comes to performing live comedy as a stand-up comic, the lesser said, the better! Or so his fans realised on the episode of &TV's India Poochega... Sabse Shaana Kaun? Shah Rukh's long-cherished dream of becoming a stand-up comic seems to be coming true on his own show since he has a ready audience. So he set out by saying, "Main aapko joke sunau aur hopefully itni acchi sunau ki aap log pagal ho jaayein." But what followed was a damp squib for him, and the audiences looked nothing short of bored after listening to his lame jokes.

So, King Khan realised he'd rather leave comedy to the experts, the guests of the evening - comedy actors Kiku Sharda, Upasna Singh, Johnny Lever and his daughter Jammy who participated to support a noble cause for Mimicry Artistes Association of Mumbai (MAAM).

Shah Rukh summed up about the guests, "The most difficult thing is to laugh at ourselves. Ye log uthte, baithte logon ko hasaate rehte hain aur bohot sanjeeda log hain." Thereafter the evening was a laugh riot with mimicry of famous stars like Farah Khan, Saroj Khan, Asha Bhosale, etc. But the icing on the cake was the two stalwarts of comedy Upasna Singh and Johnny Lever re-enacting the iconic scene from Judai. The audiences went back with their sides hurting with laughter!

When Shah Rukh Khan was 'auctioned' on TV show

According to a report on IANS, Shah Rukh Khan was recently auctioned on his TV show, India Poochega - Sabse Shaana Kaun? The report says that though SRK is used to seeing cricketers being auctioned in the Indian Premier League (IPL), during an episode of his TV show, he put himself up for an auction and cricketers Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey were doing the bidding.

The report quoted a source from the set, "SRK, who co-owns IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders, showed a keen interest in getting himself auctioned in the middle of the reality game show. He said, 'You guys know I’m very expensive. So if you had to auction me, what would you guys say?'"

The report further stated that the auction was a unique one as the bid started from a high amount and then nose-dived. Yuvraj began the auction at Rs 150 crore and then decreased the amount. Robin kept pushing it further down and said, “No, Rs 110 crore.” Meanwhile, a seemingly baffled Shah Rukh questioned, “Why is this auction going backwards? Just tell me what’s the lowest price?”

SRK’s shaana dance moves on India Poochega - Sabse Shaana Kaun?

The actor presented a magnanimous opening act that set the mood for this game show on &TV. This firecracker of a dance sequence was full of razzmatazz, chutzpah and a whole lot of shaanpatti. Choreographed by ace choreographer, Shiamak Davar, elements of all SRK’s popular songs, including his latest chartbuster 'Indiawaale', were incorporated into the theme song.

Interestingly, the song was choreographed in just one night. And needless to say that given all his other commitments and back-to-back shoots for the episodes, SRK rehearsed for the opening act continuously for hours to give a perfect take. No wonder the act turned out as dazzling as this one.

The highlight of the opening act was the energetic performance of SRK with the dancers dressed in the local attire representing various cultures, bringing to life the signature steps of the show.
