GOW has moved from an initiative that informs and educates to one that directly invites people to commit to green-friendly principles and values. Spokesperson, Ana-Maria Valente, says that 2015 is the year that will drive organisations, big and small, urban or rural, more than ever, to join the worldwide movement promoting better eco-efficiency.

"People at workplaces need to feel the importance of their role in making a difference. The top bosses all know about good governance and sustainability and follow world summits like DAVOS where green matters are top of the agenda. But workers on the ground need to understand and value what green-friendly means to them," Valente says.

Suggestions and ideas

"Every individual at work should feel empowered to make suggestions and promote ideas that lead to savings, whether of key resources such as water and electricity, or reducing waste at every level. No act is too small to be considered unimportant if it leads to recycling, reducing and reusing items or equipment. Our Green Goodwill Campaign offers a unique opportunity for everyone to easily involve themselves in contributing to savings in their office or department's budgets, and making valuable inputs to be more eco-friendly," she explains.

GOW's 2015 Green Goodwill Campaign invites all working citizens nationwide to participate. Participation can be at various levels, and GOW makes it easy by providing all the necessary information and templates explaining how the Green Goodwill Charter works as well as how one can volunteer to be a Green Goodwill Ambassador.
