Officials and police personnel had to run helter-skelter at the helipad in Gajwel town on Thursday afternoon when honeybees attacked them while waiting for Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to arrive.
According to sources, as officials and police personnel were waiting near the helipad, all of a sudden, a swarm of bees from a nearby tree flew towards them and started stinging them. Panic-stricken officials and others ran for their lives.
Many tried to hide under chairs and vehicles.
People heaved a sigh of relief only when the bees went away.
