NEW DELHI: There seems to be no end to controversies involving the censor board. On Thursday, two members of the Censor Board came out in the open about their issues with the CBFC chairman Pahlaj Nihalani’s way of functioning.

CBFC member Chandraprakash Dwivedi, in a letter to Nihalani and other board members, has objected to censor cuts in Anushka Sharma’s upcoming film, NH10. Dwivedi has demanded that the board’s list of banned cuss words should not be implemented without a discussion. Dwivedi expressed his discomfort at being part of the CBFC as the “collective voice” was being ignored.

Pointing to the cuts made in NH10, he said, they were made despite the decision taken by the board to not implement the circular until a detailed discussion took place. “I am not pained at the deletion of the cuss words or decision of the CBFC, but the violation of the trust of the board,” he said.

Another member of the board, Ashoke Pandit, took to the social media to express his concern: “From the day this man has taken over the reins of the Board, CBFC is resembling like a wild horse gone amok. His ridiculous diktats...have made CBFC a laughing stock.”

The matter has now reportedly been referred to MoS for I&B RS Rathore. Ministry officials said they are looking into the matter. Nihalani was not available for comment.
