Storage vessel supplier Ian-Conrad Bergan Inc. recently selected abas ERP as its enterprise resource planning (ERP) software system. The company is a supplier to the commercial marine market, providing marine cargo control and tank-gauging systems for ocean-going tankers, inland tank barges, and other vessels. Ian-Conrad Bergan is a pioneer in tank gauging and has developed the first ultra-reliable liquid-level overfill protection system.

Several key factors led to the company's decision to choose abas ERP over SYSPRO and ECi M1 ERP, including the fact that abas USA is the direct supplier of the solution (rather than the software being supplied via a channel). Given the manufacturer’s sales and remote service requirements, it also appreciated that abas’ back-office capabilities are integrated with customer relationship management (CRM) and field service management (FSM) capabilities.

With this win (and a slew of recent wins) abas USA continues building its North American customers and future references (making future sales easier). On the other hand, mid-market ERP stalwarts such as Epicor, Infor, and SYSPRO will have to start considering abas as a legitimate threat.
