Old woman found murdered

VADODARA: A 60-year-old woman was found murdered at her house in Sapphire Apartment on Sindhwai Mata Road on Wednesday. Harsha Gandhi's body was found in pool of blood by her husband Kumar Gandhi, when he came home at about 4.30 pm. Harsha was alone at the home as Kumar was away on job.
"Kumar said that he had left home by 2 pm after having lunch. Their son too was away for work.When Kumar called up home at about 4 pm, nobody responded. So he returned only to find his wife killed. Harsha's throat was slit with a sharp weapon and she had injury marks on her hands," said DCP (south), Gautam Parmar. Kumar also told the police that the locker in their room was open and ornaments worth about Rs 70,000 were missing. The police suspects it to be a robbery attempt but investigators are probing the case from all angles.
"There are footmarks with blood in the house but there is no sign of the accused walking out of the house. Also the main door wasn't broke and no one in the neighborhood heard or saw anything suspicious," said police.
