Director FSL inaugurates 3-day forensic workshop

JAMMU, Mar 11: Director Forensic Science Laboratory Pardeep Kumar today inaugurated three day forensic workshop.
About 30 Investigation Officer (IOs) besides police officers of different ranks attended the workshop.
Speaking on the occasion, Director FSL said that the main objective of organizing the workshop is to equip the IOs and other officers with latest FSL techniques and skills besides developing better synergy between FSL and other concerned agencies to ensure fast track investigation to reduce the scale of crime. He also threw light on the various issues with regard to crime control and use of latest methods of investigation.
During the day long workshop, question-answer session was also held and experts from FSL delivered lectures on various subjects and replied to various points raised by the participants which include forensic documentation, polygraph test, spot/physical analysis, forensic ballistics, forensic chem and toxicology, sampling packing besides other forensic principles and procedures followed by demonstration of various forensic tools.
The workshop was helpful for the police officials to understand the importance of forensic techniques while handling the investigation of crimes alongwith proper procedures that need to be followed throughout the whole investigation.
Later, Director Forensic Science Laboratory distributed certificates of participation and mementoes among the participants.
Among others senior officers of Forensic Science Laboratory were also present on the occasion.
