The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO ) has started SMS services for members with Universal Account Number (UAN). Under this service, a member will send an SMS in predefined format from her mobile number registered with the EPFO at the time UAN activation. On receipt of SMS, EPFO will send the members information on last contribution, total PF balance and know-your-customer (KYC) details.
The details would be provided in 10 different Indian languages-English, Hindi, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali.
This service would make it convenient for members to know their details along with contribution and PF Balance.
According to an EPFO statement, since the facility is available only to UAN activated members, it will speed up the UAN activation process by the members.
