Two people with ties to B.C.’s Lower Mainland are facing drug and weapons charges after police issued search warrants on three properties during a crackdown on Calgary street-level drug sales.

ALERT seized a loaded Glock handgun, drugs and equipment related to drug trafficking on March 6 during the execution of three search warrants.

Items seized include:

  • 55 grams of cocaine
  • 51 grams of heroin
  • 19 grams of marijuana
  • Packing materials, digital scales, score sheets, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia

Police say most of the drugs and the handgun were found in a Glenbrook home located less than a block from a school. Homes in the Eau Claire and Copperfield areas were also searched.

They say that the gun was loaded with 10 rounds and the serial number was removed.

The drugs have an estimated street value of $26,000.

Sheldon Seymour, 23, of Surrey, is charged with possession of a restricted weapon, careless use of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, defacing a serial number on a firearm, possession of proceeds of crime, drug possession, and possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 2).

Tyler Romanisson, 33, of Surrey, is charged with possession of a weapon contrary to prohibition order, possession of a restricted weapon, carless use of a firearm, defacing a serial number on a firearm, possession of property obtained by crime, drug possession (x 2), possession for the purpose of trafficking (x 2).

Police say they are in the process of obtaining warrants for two additional suspects.
