An hour before they were to appear for the opening examination of the Intermediate first year, two students - Balineni Anil Kumar and Anjaneyulu alias Anji (both 16) - were killed on the spot, when their motorbike was knocked down by a tipper near Mulakalacheruvu mandal headquarters, 40 k.m. from Madanapalle, on Wednesday morning.
The local police said that the duo were on their way to the examination centre near Madanapalle from their village Pathakota in Mulakalacheruvu mandal. Eye-witnesses said over speed of the tipper driver and swerving to the extreme right resulted in the tragedy. Bodies of the students were shifted to area hospital for autopsy. A case was registered.
