A total of 16,111 students – 7,358 boys and 8,753 girls – will appear for the annual pre-university (PU) examination, which will commence on March 12 and conclude on March 27, in the district.
The department has established 25 centres across the district and all arrangements have been put in place for conducting the examinations, B.M. Srikantaiah, Deputy Director of Pre-University Education, told presspersons here on Tuesday.
Among the candidates, 13,141 are regular students, 625 private students and 2,345 repeaters. Mandavya PU College in Mandya, H.K. Veerana Gowda PU College in Maddur, and Government Girls’ PU College and S.M. Lingappa PU College in K.R. Pet have been declared as ‘hyper-sensitive’ centres, Mr. Srikantaiah said.
The district stood 23rd in PU-II results during 2013-14.
