Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha will visit the Bidar Air Force Station on Wednesday.
He is scheduled to fly the Hawk MK-132 trainer aircraft used to train fighter pilots. He will also review the training pattern and the support infrastructure for the trainees.
A graduate of the National Defence Academy, Mr. Raha was commissioned in the Indian Air Force in 1974. He is a fighter pilot with 3,400 hours of flying. He is a category-A flying instructor and fighter combat leader.
He has held operational assignments, like commanding officer of the MIG-29 squadron, the station commander of Air Force Station Bhatinda and the Air officer commanding Western Air Command.
