Mahindra & Mahindra on Tuesday said that goods have been seized from a fan manufacturer in Secunderabad for illegally appropriating the ‘Mahindra’ trademark.
It has been learnt that Secundrabad-based ‘Mahindra Industries’ was engaged in the manufacture and trade of electrical goods such as fans, induction cookers, mixer-grinders, electric irons under the brand name of ‘Mahindra Deluxe’ within Andhra. On ascertaining the activities of ‘Mahindra Industries’ through a private investigation, the company filed a trademark infringement suit before the Bombay HC, M&M said.
Upon receiving an order for search and seizure, two warehouses of ‘Mahindra Industries’ at Secunderabad were raided. The raid uncovered large quantities of materials, including ceiling fans, printed cartons, packaging material, etc, bearing the mark ‘Mahindra’.
