Director M. Night Shyamalan's 10-episode Wayward Pines will kick off Fox's summer program schedule on May 14 (9 p.m. ET/PT), with other series premiering in the following weeks.

Pines, a psychological thriller based on Blake Crouch's books, stars Matt Dillon (Crash) as a Secret Service agent trying to find two missing federal agents. It will open on the same day in 125 countries as part of a global premiere.

MasterChef opens its sixth season on May 20 (8 p.m. ET/PT). Judges Gordon Ramsay and Graham Elliot will be joined on the panel by renowned pastry chef Christina Tosi.

Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? returns on May 26 (8 p.m. ET/PT). Comedian Jeff Foxworthy is back as host of the show, in which grade-school students aid the adult contestants.

The 12th season of So You Think You Can Dance begins June 1 (8 p.m. ET/PT). New judges Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo join Nigel Lythgoe, with Cat Deeley returning as host.

A new game show, Boom!, premieres on June 25 (8 p.m. ET/PT). Comedian Tom Papa (The Marriage Ref) will host the general-knowledge quiz show, which "challenges teams of three players to defuse a series of ticking slime-bombs by dramatically cutting the wires relating to the correct answers and leaving the wrong answers untouched," the show description says. If they get it right, they win money. If they get it wrong or run out of time, players will be "showered with anything from guacamole to mashed potatoes."

A number of Fox series will present their season finales in the late spring, including (all times ET/PT): Backstrom, (April 30, 9 p.m.), Gotham (May 4, 8 p.m.), New Girl (May 5, 9 p.m.), Weird Loners (May 5; 9:30 p.m. ET/PT), American Idol XIV (May 12; 9 p.m. and May 13, 8 p.m.), The Simpsons (May 17, 8 p.m.), Brooklyn Nine-Nine (May 17, 8:30 p.m.), Family Guy (May 17, 9 p.m.), The Following (May 18, 8 p.m.), Bones (June 4, 8 p.m.) and Hell's Kitchen (June 9, 9 p.m.).

Other finale and premiere dates will be announced.
