March 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - SALEM:

The Chithirai car festival of the famous Sri Ukra Kadali Lakshmi Narasimha Swami Temple will be celebrated in May this year after a gap of seven years.

A meeting of the 10 Kattalaitharars, representatives of various sections of the society, and VIPS, held here on Wednesday decided to hold the festival for two days on May 3 and 4.

The festival was last held in April 2008.

The festival could not be continued since then due to the recurring drought and other local issues.

The meeting decided to conduct the car festival in a fitting manner on the above days.
