Two new ambulances for St John

KLANG: St John Ambulance Selangor received two fully equipped ambulances from The Rotary Club of Pudu at the official handing over ceremony held at St John Ambulance Malaysia Kawasan Pantai Selangor headquarters on Saturday.
Organising chairman and former president of the club Choo Jee Sam said that RM315,000 was raised by the club after a fund raising project was initiated to help the non-governmental organisation (NGO) provide more effective services to the community during emergency situations.
The handing-over ceremony was officiated by Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development, Datin Paduka Chew Mei Fun.
Also present during the ceremony were Rotary Club of Pudu president Daisy Chiu and St John Ambulance Malaysia commander-in-chief Datuk Dr Low Bin Tick.
The ambulances are equipped with, among others, scoop stretchers, blue splints, automated external defibrillators, cervical collars, BP monitors, portable resuscitators, stretchers, First Aid kits, Ambu bags (manual resuscitator) and pocket masks.
