Pavagadh ropeway fire hoax

VADODARA: Officials operating the Pavagadh ropeway filed an offence with Pavagadh police after a hoax was spread over an instant messaging application regarding a fire in the ropeway.
The hoax began circulating along with a video clip of a fire on a ropeway from Saturday morning. The ropeway operators had to quell the rumor by sending out their own message along with a phone number over the messaging application.
Dinesh Negi, the operations manager of the ropeway that is operated by Usha Breco, said that he was informed about the hoax at about 8am. "We acted in time to avert any confusion. We have also filed an offence regarding the incident. The police will now conduct investigations," he said. Negi added that the video was regarding a fire that had taken place in a ropeway at Israel on March 4.
