‘Justice’ sought for Rayalaseema

March 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - KURNOOL:

Rayalaseema Janata Party president P. Satyanarayana Gupta on Saturday urged political parties to fight against the ‘injustice’ meted out to the region in the name of State bifurcation.

In a statement here, he said that the bifurcation was detrimental to the interests of Rayalaseema, while it was advantageous to Telangana and coastal Andhra. “The division has spurred new growth in coastal Andhra, while Telangana is left with surplus fund. Only Rayalaseema is at the receiving end, with no infrastructure and poor human index,” he said. He also accused the people’s representatives of maintaining a stoic silence over the issue.
