Karnataka co-operation minister Mahadev Prasad once again in trouble
MYSURU: Trouble for co-operation minister H S Mahadev Prasad never seems to end as far as case connected with buying a housing board site allegedly filing a false affidavit that he owns no site allotted by a government agency is concerned . Last month petitioner against the minister one Nandeesh from Gundlupet taluk who perceived the case and succeeded in getting an investigation done by Lok Ayuktha filed an application seeking permission from law court to withdraw the case.

His withdrawal application set in motion various rumours in the political circles and Nandeesh was alleged getting huge monetary benefits from minister for filing withdrawal application . Law court of judge V G Sawadkar which was hearing the petition and perusing Lok ayuktha report in which minister was found guilty of violating various laws , particularly related to prevention of corruption act was today expected to decide on Nandeesh’s application on whether to allow the withdrawal or not.
However case took a curious turn on Saturday when one L Suresh a voter from Gundlupet town filed an intervener application asking the court to consider him as a petitioner and continue with the trial. Nagendra Prasad lawyer on behalf of Suresh told Principal sessions judge V G Sawadkar that his client should be considered as intervener in the case under section 301 (2) of the CrPc .
Talking to TOI Mallikarjun Swamy who was arguing the case on behalf of Nandeesh said Nagendra Prasad has filed an intervener application like Annabalagan who was considered as intervener in Jayalaltihaa’s disproportionate assets case and succeeded in transferring the case to Karnataka in which AIADMK leader was convicted for four years.
“ There are only two instances on this score and in both the cases court has admitted the intervener applications and allowed the trial” he claimed disclosing that he has also filed an application asking the court not to allow Nandeesh to withdraw the case and continue with trial.
After filing intervener application L Suresh said politicians in positions think that they can do away with crimes committed by them , but “ I want to show that rich people cannot buy everybody”.
It may be recalled here that Lok ayuktha which investigated the issue found Mahadev Prasad aellgedly violating various sections of IPC and Prevention of corruption act.
