Walkathon to be flagged off in Manipal today

The district police, along with T.A. Pai Management Institute (TAPMI), Social Endeavour Group of Manipal University and other organisations, is conducting a walkathon here on Saturday.

In a release here on Friday, the district police said that the ‘Walkathon-2015’ aimed to create awareness among the students of Manipal and the public about the consequences of consumption of drugs, drunken driving and smoking.

The walkathon would commence from KMC Greens here at 5 p.m. and culminate at 7 p.m. at MGM College in Udupi. The officers and personnel of district police, the staff and students of Manipal University and general public would be participating in the walkathon, the release added.
