Students stage rasta roko

March 07, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:43 am IST - Mysuru:

Students of Maharani’s College staged a rasta roko on Friday seeking improvement in the KSRTC services plying on the college route.

They demanded that women conductors be deployed on the route and accused a few conductors of being abusive towards students holding a monthly pass. The protest was supported by the All India Democratic Youth Organisation (AIDYO) and All India Democratic Students Organisation (AIDSO) activists.

“The monthly passes were not honoured and students were humiliated by the male conductors,” said the agitating students.

Traffic on J.L.B. Road was disrupted for sometime following the protest.
