Idol procession at Guruvayur from today

The gold idol ( swarna kolam ) of the deity will be taken in a procession from Saturday onwards as part of the annual festival of the Guruvayur Sreekrishna Temple.

The procession will begin from Kazhcha Seeveli in the afternoon. The elephant, Gajaratnam Padmanabhan, will carry the gold idol. The procession is held on the last five days of the 10-day festival. Thousands of people will reach the temple to witness the procession carrying the idol made of gold and embedded with precious stones.
