NAGPUR: BJP president
Amit Shah had a marathon meeting with the
RSS brass in Nagpur on Friday. The meeting with RSS chief
Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Bhaiyyaji Joshi at the Sangh headquarters in Mahal area lasted for over 8 hours.
The meeting comes in the wake of tensions in PDP-BJP alliance in Jammu and Kashmir after controversial statements such as CM
Mufti Mohammad Sayeed thanking Pakistan and terrorists for the peaceful polls and PDP demanding return of Afzal Guru's ashes.
After Sayeed's statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was forced by the opposition to clarify in Parliament that the Union government did not endorse his view.
Though Shah did not speak to reporters, RSS sources said the common minimum program (CMP) of PDP-BJP alliance, Sayeed's controversial statement, the position on Article 370, and the land bill were discussed at the meeting.
The meeting is also significant as the RSS' Pratinidhi Sabha, its highest decision-making body, is all set to meet in Nagpur in the third week of March.
