Shimoga man caught with LSD worth Rs 2 lakh at Baga

CALANGUTE: Continuing the crackdown on the narcotic drugs trade in the beach belt, a person from Karnataka was caught red-handed late on Thursday night by the Calangute police for being in illegal possession of LSD.
According to Calangute PSI Mangesh Volvoiker, they received a tip-off that a person would be arriving at the parking lot at Suntavaddo in Baga to deliver narcotics.
Accordingly, a trap was laid and Vivek Alwyn Gonsalves, 30, a native of Shimoga, was caught at around 10pm with LSD liquid weighing 1.87g and worth 2 lakh.
Gonsalves has been charged under Section 22 (C) of the NDPS Act and is in police custody.
