Both Prithvi Reddy and authorities at the Jindal institute said they were not aware who would bear the treatment cost. They said the charges were as per the rates mentioned in the tariff card. According to the tariff card, the charges for a ‘Nest’ accommodation (shared by a minimum of two patients are Rs. 7,000 for the first and second patient each and Rs. 3,000 for the third patient per day). An approximate treatment cost of Rs. 2,000 per day would be charged for every patient staying in a Nest. While diet is free, other taxes, including luxury tax, and surcharges are applicable.
