Plus Two examinations begin

Official machinery makes arrangements to ensure basic amenities in all centres

A total of 30,392 students wrote Plus Two examination which began on Thursday.

N. Subbaiyan, Collector, inspected the examination at Government Girls Higher Secondary School. The Collector said that in Pattukottai education district, 10,414 students wrote the examination in 29 centres. In Kumbakonam educational district, 11,143 students wrote the examinations in 28 centres. In Thanjavur educational district, 8,835 students wrote examinations in 27 centres.

A total of 13,505 boys and 16,887 girls wrote the examinations. Fifty six differently abled persons wrote the examinations and scribes have been appointed for those who require their services. Seventeen flying squads have been formed and they monitor the examinations. V.Thamizharasu, Chief Education Officer, was present.

A total of 8,509 students appeared for the Plus Two examination. Collector Darez Ahamed inspected the examination held at various centres. Students wrote examination at 24 centres from 65 schools in the district. Of them, 4,213 were boys, 4,114 were girls. One hundred and eighty two students appeared as private candidates. Flying squad with 60 members, 430 room invigilators were on supervision duty.

As many as 18,234 students including 7,521 boys and 10,713 girls wrote the examination in this district on Thursday. Besides, 173 private candidates including 92 boys and 81 girls appeared for the examinations. A total of 61 centres were set up in different parts of the district and the administration made elaborate arrangements. Over 1,821 persons including 69 headmasters, 1,410 teachers, 241 non-teaching staff, and 92 police personnel were pressed into service. The Educational Department constituted 140 flying squads to supervise the procedure. Collector S. Palanisamy conducted a surprise check at Municipal Government Higher Secondary School for Girls .

In Karaikal, 2,183 students including 1,497 boys and 686 girls, belonging to 19 schools, wrote the examinations in seven centres. Besides, 260 private candidates, including 173 boys and 87 girls, appeared for the examinations in two centres. A flying squad headed by Chief Educational Officer was formed to conduct checks in the centres.
