March 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:37 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Members of the Basti Vikas Manch (BVM) here along with several school students protested against the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) for allegedly damaging the underground drainage and water system of the Govt. High School, Gun Bazaar Huts, Rasoolpura, in Begumpet.

Members of BVM alleged that about 900 students and 20 staff members are facing problems due to the SCB, which sanctioned work to construct a community hall, reportedly on the school’s playground. A press release from BVM stated that the work was commissioned without projecting any alternative to restore the underground drainage system.

In spite of repeated representations, visits to the cantonment, efforts were futile, alleged BVM.
